The Windows 10 update specifications say that 20BG of free space is needed (for the 64-bit version). I've installed Win 7 Home Premium (64-bit) on a MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2012, OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan, 8GB RAM and 128 SSD) using Boot Camp Assistant (BCA) and updated it to Service Pack 1.īCA created a 49GB partition for Windows after upgrading to Win7.1, Windows Explorer reports that that there is over 21GB of free space on the the this partition. Prior to El Capitan, you had to insert a USB Flash Drive and Boot Camp Assistant copied the Windows installer from an ISO disk image to the flash drive, and then downloaded and set up the Windows drivers to the correct location in the installer for the Mac hardware. ![]()
